The Drakensberg mountains had their origin some 200 million years ago. The climate is predominantly one of warm to hot summer days, with fairly regular afternoon thunder storms - and cool nights. Also spells of mist and drizzle can be experienced. Winter days are mainly mild to warm, and dry, except during occasional "cold fronts" which often bring snow to the peaks, nights can be extremely cold with frost. But all the berg venues are fully prepared for cold spells!
There are many wonderful mountain hotels situated amongst really beautiful scenery. Walks and hiking trails are clearly marked, game viewing, bird watching, hang gliding and horse riding are some leisure activities available, and some larger resorts even have helicopter trips for guests to really enjoy the views. Many venues also offer stunning golf courses, bowls, tennis, squash, champagne breakfasts by the river, white water rafting, archery, horse riding etc. There are hotels and venues of all sizes and catagories with all the mentioned facilities ideal for Team Building. |
